A MESSAGE FROM ANN
To my friends, supporters, and DeKalb County citizens:
Thank you for visiting my website. As many of you may now know, I have officially announced my candidacy for the position of Chief Executive Officer for DeKalb County. The decision to run for this office was done with careful deliberation. As the current Chief of Staff for DeKalb County, I understand what it takes to make government run efficiently and effectively. My eight years of service in DeKalb County government has well prepared me to carry out the duties of the CEO for this county. I’ve been your Chief of Staff for the past five years and I can tell you with first-hand knowledge that DeKalb County is fiscally and financially sound and better today than it was yesterday.
As Senior Policy Director of the CEO’s office, I have facilitated a variety of positive initiatives including infrastructure improvements, miles of new sidewalks, technological upgrades, a diverse workplace with increased leadership for women, and our excellent bond credit rating. As you can see I am a tactician, not a politician, whose knowledge and experience in County government have been hands-on through direct involvement, not at a distance. The wealth of experience I have received while serving the citizens of DeKalb County and handling complex business negotiations with developers and business owners provides me with an advantage over my opponents for this position.
As your next CEO, I will build on DeKalb County ’s progress to ensure that this county remains one of the most successful in the state of Georgia. I promise to be a coalition builder to bring an end to the power struggles and stalemates that hamper our growth and unity. In addition, I plan on recruiting and retaining the brightest and best public safety personnel, improving and increasing senior facilities, and fostering both economic and green development. I am passionate about getting the faith community involved in the concerns of our youth and gang activities in DeKalb County, a county where gangs outnumber our police.
I’ve resided in DeKalb County for 25 years and raised three children in this wonderful county. I’ve seen where DeKalb has progressed from and have listened to your voices about your concerns. I am excited about the future of DeKalb County and you can be assured that I will deliver!
Join me today in assuring that DeKalb County continues to be the best place to live in the state of Georgia and the best example of effective government that works for the people. Should you have concerns about DeKalb County today, my best advice to you is Call Ann!
Thank you for your support.
Ann Kimbrough
